9th January 2013 summary of roadworks for M25
A traffic management summary for both new and ongoing work

M25 Junction 5 to 6
Work continues this week to prepare for an upgrade to the central reservation barrier upgrade along the M25 between junctions 5 (Sevenoaks) and 6 (Godstone), which is due to be completed in spring 2013. Narrow lanes and a 50mph speed limit are in place, with a free recovery service operating 24 hours a day. There will be additional lane and slip road closures as required, which will be carried out overnight when traffic flow is lowest.
M11 Junction 5 - 6
Work to repair an embankment along the M11 in Essex will resume this week. Two lanes on the northbound carriageway will be closed each night from Monday 7 January until the end of February, between 8pm and 5am each night. Some of the work is expected to be noisy, and the project team will limit this work to between 8pm and 12.30am, to try and limit the noise impact on people living nearby. One lane will remain open on the M11 throughout.
A13 Mar Dyke Viaduct
Maintenance work on the A13 around its junction with the M25 continues this week.
On Monday 7 January, the eastbound entry slip road from M25 J30 will be closed overnight between 10pm and 5.30am for resurfacing work. Road users will be directed to follow a fully signed diversion route to the A13 westbound to Wennington junction and return.
On Tuesday 8 January, the eastbound A13 between the exit and entry slip roads for the M25 will be closed overnight between 10pm and 5.30am for resurfacing work. Road users will be directed to follow a fully signed diversion route across the junction interchange.
On Wednesday 9 January the westbound A13 between the exit and entry slip roads for the M25 will be closed overnight between 10pm and 5.30am for resurfacing work. Road users will be directed to follow a fully signed diversion route across the junction interchange.
From Thursday 10 January for four nights, the westbound exit slip road to the M25 in both directions will be closed between 10pm and 5.30am for resurfacing work. Work will begin at 11pm on Friday, and will be suspended on Saturday and Sunday nights. Road users will be directed to follow a fully signed diversion route via the westbound A13 via Wennington junction.
M25 Junction 11
The clockwise entry slip road will be closed overnight on Wednesday 9 January between 10pm and 5.00am for electrical work. Road users will be directed to follow a fully signed diversion route via junction 10.
M25 Junction 21
The anti-clockwise exit link road to the southbound M1 will be closed overnight on Tuesday 8 January between 10pm and 5am for drainage works. Road users will be directed to follow a fully signed diversion route via junction 20.
M25 Junction 31
The clockwise entry slip road will be closed overnight on Saturday 12 January between 10pm and 5am for bridge maintenance works. Road users will be directed to follow a fully signed diversion route via M25 junction 30.
M1 Junction 1 to Junction 5
The northbound M1 between junction 1 and junction 5 in north London - including the entry slip roads at junction 1, junction 2, London Gateway Services and Junction 4 – will be closed overnight for two nights from Monday 7 January between 10pm and 5.30am for structure maintenance. Road users will be directed to follow a fully signed diversion route via the A406, A41 and the A1.
Work will then move to the southbound carriageway for 14 nights from Wednesday 9 January, when the southbound M1 between junctions 5 and 3 - including the entry slip roads at junction 5 and junction 4 - will be closed, with a diversion via the A1, A41 and A406.
On Friday nights work will begin at 11pm.
M3 Junction 2
The link road from the westbound M3 to the clockwise M25 will be closed overnight for two nights from Tuesday 8 January between 10pm and 5am for communication maintenance work. Road users will be directed to follow a fully signed diversion route via junction 3 of the M3.
A1(M) Junction 2
The northbound exit slip road will be closed overnight on Wednesday 9 January between 10pm and 5am for drainage work. Road users will be directed to follow a fully signed diversion route via junction 3.
A1(M) Junction 4
The southbound entry slip road will be closed overnight on Wednesday 9 January between 10pm and 5am for drainage work. Road users will be directed to follow a fully signed diversion route via the A1001 to junction 3.
A1(M) Junction 6
The southbound entry slip road will be closed overnight on Wednesday 9 January between 10pm and 5am for drainage work. Road users will be directed to follow a fully signed diversion route via junction 7.
A1(M) Junction 4 to Junction 2
The southbound A1(M) between junction 4 and junction 2, including the entry slip road at junction 4, will be closed overnight on Friday 11 January between 11pm and 5am for tunnel maintenance. Road users will be directed to follow a fully signed diversion route via the A1001 to junction 2.
A1(M) Junction 2 to Junction 4
The northbound A1(M) between junction 2 and junction 4, including the entry slip road at junction 3, will be closed overnight on Saturday 12 January between 10pm and 5am for tunnel maintenance. Road users will be directed to follow a fully signed diversion route via the A1001 to junction 4.
A2
The link road from the westbound A2 to the northbound A282 will be closed overnight for two nights from Thursday 10 January between 10pm and 5am for electrical work. On Friday night, work will begin at 11pm. Road users will be directed to follow a fully signed diversion route via the M25 junction 2 roundabout.

A282 QEII Bridge
The QEII Bridge will be closed overnight on Saturday 12 January between 10pm and 5am for bridge maintenance work. Road users will be directed to follow a fully signed southbound diversion route through the east tunnel, which will be closed to northbound traffic.
