Haig’s striking livery of green, cream and red has been ever present since the companies inception back in 1946 by David Wilkie Haig the company’s founder, father of Douglas Haig and grandfather of Marco Haig. Originally specialising in agricultural haulage the company has grown and adapted with the times and the needs of it’s customers.
Today Haig Transport’s haulage side of the business carries mainly container or multi-modal transport in and around Scotland and the UK from the various sea and rail hubs. The fleet also consists of tautliner trailers which are used for the weekly run to Italy and mainland Europe as well as UK domestic general haulage.
Our transport team have a wealth of knowledge of the industry and are always able to offer a haulage solution to it’s customers, no matter what their needs may be. Our fleet ranges from small 3.5 tonne vans right up to 44 tonne artics providing you with a cost effective haulage solution.
Freight Management
Our Freight managemnet team have built up a wealth of experience and knowledge over many decades and are able to pass on this invaluable knowledge and experience to our customers in the way of a bespoke freight solution. Covering not only the UK but also mainland Europe and further afield Haig Transport’s Freight Management team can take care of consignments from the smallest envelope to full loads or even over sized equipment by land , sea or air.
Within our freight facility we have additional partners who in turn help us provide a complete and extensive solution for our customers. This is also complimented by a network of partners in the UK and mainland Europe to give us a foothold and coverage in every major market in Europe and in turn Globally.
Haig Transport combines both the haulage and warehousing sides of the business to offer a distribution facility. This helps cover all aspects of today's modern business needs.
The distribution network can either be undertaken in Haig Transports own vehicles or the customers own where required.
The facility is again both UK and European wide. Services at the moment include de-vanning, re-loading and re-palletising full or part-loads consolodation, next day deliveries, special deliveries and heavy lifting services.
