Supply Chain Management
When using the UK and European network, S&K personnel via our own software program, monitor all deliveries. When a vehicle makes a delivery the actual delivery time, date and signatory is sent back to the S&K mainframe via SMS, which then replaces the estimated time of delivery. The statistical information is then collated on a monthly basis in the form of a report table and as graphical information if required.

There is a 5,400 pallet space warehouse and distribution centre on our enclosed premises. This can be used to store long-term items, short-term items, raw materials and finished goods. There is also the facility to store full loads and call off one item of raw materials or finished goods at a time, this can be picked & packed and sent straight onto a Harp customer to save time at your site. This service can be used when there is a volume fluctuation, to free up valuable warehousing and production space at your site or possibly a cost saving operation.
Picking and Packing
Picking requests or e-mails are received daily to despatch the relevant goods. The current lead-time for picking is the same or one day and for urgent deliveries it is immediate. Upon receipt of a pick ticket, products are removed from their storage location and checked by batch numbers and quantities. The customer labels and barcodes are applied to the packaging. The product is put onto the appropriate pallets and shrunk wrapped or banded if required. The material is then moved to the transit warehouse on site prior to final customer delivery.
We have located at our Barry site a heated store, which can raise and maintain the temperature of materials when required. The temperature range of this facility is from 0 to + 25 degrees centigrade. The heating process can be assisted by the use of heating body belts and heating jackets etc.
We have located at our Barry site a refrigerated store, which can lower and maintain the temperature of materials when required. The temperature range of this facility is from 0 to - 25 degrees centigrade. To assist the reduction of temperature dry ice or inert gases can be used.
On Site Storage
S&K has a static storage fleet, which consists of liquid tank, refrigerated or heated, box van, PSK, flat, skeletal, euroliner and tautliner trailers. This method of storage is used when the customer wants to keep a tight control of their products or raw materials. These trailers can be left on your site for an unlimited period of time or the trailers can be parked at our 24 hour manned site, when short of space in your parking area.
There are other aspects of the Road Haulage Industry S&K covers, to aid the customer in daily and long operations, plans and investments. Through being in the industry for 38 years, we have experience and knowledge in various costs, practicalities and after affects.

One means of Business Management is by our consultancy service, which covers Import / Export training services, logistics management, supply chain management, ISO, CEFIC SQA System, written policies, systems, procedures, internal audits, sit in on AGMs' and any other form of meetings to give an outside and an experienced view on logistical matters and other queries on day to day operations within the Road Haulage sector.
