Shipping & Groupage Services
Groupage Services
Part Load traffic is a very popular service with our customers. This service would normally be for the non-urgent consignments as they will normally be delivered within 1-3 days of collection. We will group the required ammount to fill one of our 45ft curtain sided trailers, the goods will be dispatched as soon as the trailer is full. Customers who use this service understand that who their customers (who we will deliver to) will have to be flexible with regards to offloading our vehciles as and when they arrive. If you require a full 26 pallet load to be delivered then we can do this at a time of your choice, and at no extra costs.
Shipping Services
Do you import goods in containers but your customers cannot offload these containers ? We can arrange to have your container collected from the port or rail freight terminal. We will then bring the container back to our depot to offload via unloading bays and specialzed container forklift trucks. The goods are offloaded, and if they are already on pallets they will be labelled up with the final destination ready to dispatch. We also offer a service for non-palletised freight, this is offloaded, palletised and then labelled up ready for dispatch.Throughout the process we ensure that we take extreme care when offloading the products and ensuring that the goods are labelled up correctly. Once the container is offloaded, the goods ready for despatch then we will drop the empty container back at the port or rail terminal. This service is exceptionaly popular with many of our customers as not every business will have the facilities to offload containers.We can also deliver to residential address’s throughout the UK as most vehciles are equipped wtih tail-lifts for easy offload.
Dedicated Distribution & Hazardous Deliveries
Transporting Hazardous Freight by road Must be carried out by a Profesionaly qualifed person. The qualification is called ADR (International Carriage Of Dangerous Goods by Road) The acronym “ADR” is french and stands for 'Accord European Relatif au Transport International des Marchandises Dangereuses par Route'.However, this qualification is required by law and must be re-taken every 5 years.This ensures that we and our employees are up-to date with the latest legislation. When sending hazardous cargo it is essential that the goods are accompanied by a DGN Note. This must contain the following information:
| 1. UN Number |
2. Proper Shipping Name together with the technical name |
| 3. Class |
4. Packing group when relevant |
| 5. Number and escription of the packages |
6. Total quantity of each item of dangerous goods |
| 7. Name and address of consignor |
8. Name and address of consignee |
Because of the nature of Dangerous Goods, we will normally use dedicated transport and deliver direct to your customer. We can still deliver smaller quantities but this will normally be added to our groupage services (subject to loading restrictions of incompatible goods)
You don’t have to move hazardous freight to book one of our Dedicated Vehicles as this is a very popular service with alot of our current customers. You simply book the vehicle of your choice (small van, 7.5ton , 18ton, 26ton or 44ton) and you can either :-
