Driver CPC is required when driving a vehicle to a test site
A Driver CPC is required for those taking a vehicle for testing, Vosa has confirmed.
In a statement the agency said: "A mechanic, technician or other person taking a vehicle to an annual test is required to hold a Driver CPC qualification (or have grandfather rights).
“The exemption within the regulations does not permit the taking of a vehicle to annual test.”
However, Vosa added that when a vehicle is undergoing road tests for technical development, repair or maintenance purposes, or is a new or rebuilt vehicle which has not yet been put into service no Driver CPC is required.
