M25 Junction 5 to 6
Work continues this week on an upgrade to the central reservation barrier along the M25 between junctions 5 (Sevenoaks) and 6 (Godstone), ahead of a major improvement project scheduled to start in spring 2013. Narrow lanes and a 50mph speed limit are in place, with a free recovery service operating 24 hours a day. There will be additional lane and slip road closures as required, which will be carried out overnight when traffic flow is lowest.
M25 Junction 23 to 27
Preparatory work for a major upgrade on the M25 on the Hertfordshire/Essex border continues this week, ahead of a major upgrade project expected to start in the spring.
The preparatory work involves some vegetation clearance, strengthening the hard shoulder and sections of the verge, upgrading drainage, and preparing the breakdown recovery stations and cameras which will be used during the roadworks.
The work will involve overnight hard shoulder, lane 1 and slip road closures, with all restrictions removed outside working hours. Slip road closures will be publicised in advance and clearly signed diversions will be in place. The next stage of work, in the spring, will require the installation of 24-hour narrow lanes and a temporary reduced 50 mph speed limit.
M11 Junction 5 - 6
Work to repair an embankment along the M11 in Essex continues this week. Two lanes on the northbound carriageway will be closed each night until the end of February, between 8pm and 5am each night. Some of the work is expected to be noisy, and the project team will limit this work to between 8pm and 12.30am, to try and limit the noise impact on people living nearby.
