M25 junctions 23 to 27
Preparatory work for a major upgrade on the M25 on the Hertfordshire/Essex border continues this week, ahead of a major upgrade project expected to start in the spring. The preparatory work involves some vegetation clearance, strengthening the hard shoulder and sections of the verge, upgrading drainage, and preparing the breakdown recovery stations and cameras which will be used during the roadworks. The work will involve overnight hard shoulder, lane 1 and slip road closures, with all restrictions removed outside working hours. Slip road closures will be publicised in advance and clearly signed diversions will be in place. The next stage of work, in the spring, will require the installation of 24-hour narrow lanes and a temporary reduced 50 mph speed limit.
